Bernie Farber a proud fighter for human rights, Bernie most recently served as CEO for
the Canadian Jewish Congress. He serves on several local boards including the North
York Committee for Community Race and Ethnic Relations, the York Region Community
Safety Committee and the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police. Bernie will talk
about heroism during the Shoah - Jews and non-Jews - who had the courage to act.

Jerry Ziedenberg historian and chair of Beth Tikvah’s Adult Education. Jerry will
talk about the incredible saga of thousands of Jewish refugees fleeing the Nazis only
to be captured, imprisoned and then exiled by the British to the island of Mauritius.

opinion pieces for Time magazine, Toronto Star, National Post and the Globe & Mail,

Fatah was on Maclean’s list of 50 Canadians described as “Canada’s most well known
and respected personalities”. Tarek will talk about the relationship between Jews and

novel that was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the Governor General’s

Moshe Hammer world renowned and award winning violinist. He will talk about his
musical experiences and philanthropic work with the non-profit program he founded,
teaching children music and violins to get them away from violence.

Aubrey Dan businessman and philanthropist Aubrey Dan has called himself a risktaker
and one who doesn’t accept the status quo. He launched Dancap Productions Inc. in
2007 to fill what he saw as a void in the Toronto entertainment industry. Aubrey will be
